Concept
Shot in the atmospheric countryside of Morwellham Quay, Devon, this project captures the vibrant orange Audi R8 against the muted greens and rustic tones of its surroundings. The goal was to emphasise the R8’s modern design and colour through the contrast of the natural, misty forest light.
The location’s texture—aged stone barns, moss, and diffused morning fog—framed the R8 as an object of precision within nature’s imperfection. Each image was carefully composed to balance mechanical beauty with the raw tones of the countryside.
Texture & Tone
The contrast between the R8’s sharp lines and the soft, diffused forest light created a moody cinematic tone. Reflections were guided by subtle positioning to retain surface clarity while letting the bright paint interact with the environment.
Contrast & Reflection
The reflective surfaces of the R8 were balanced against the darker tones of the woodland surroundings, highlighting the car’s geometry. Using polarisation and selective exposure, each frame revealed the tension between vivid engineering and tranquil scenery.
